HC Membership: Foundation Classes

HC Foundation Classes

Whether you are new to the faith, curious about Christianity, or interested in becoming a member at Harvestime Church, our Foundation Classes provide a perfect introduction to what we believe and the foundation of all that is taught in this church –and across Fountain of Wisdom Ministries global.

Our Foundation classes are FREE – registration is required (below).

The Foundation Classes are prerequisites for membership here at Harvestime church.
Class attendees will go through 6 sessions that cover the basics of our faith and beliefs, and the church’s identity and structure. After successfully completing the Foundation Classes, you are welcomed (again) into the church family and invited to serve in any of the available departments.

Below are the 6 topics that you will cover in the classes:

The Introductions

THE REALITY OF THE NEW BIRTH

FOUNDATION CLASSES - REALITY OF NEW BIRTH

 

CLASS DISCUSSIONS:

  1. Why must everyone be born again?
  2. What must a man do to be born again? (Give at least three points)
  3. What are the evidences of being born again?
  4. Have you been born again, and if so, what have been the changes in your life?

INTRODUCING THE HOLY SPIRIT

FOUNDATION CLASSES - HOLY SPIRIT

 

CLASS DISCUSSIONS:

  1. Describe some of the characteristics of the Holy Spirit, giving examples from the Old and New Testaments.
  2. Why did Jesus say that it was ‘expedient’ for him to go away? (John 16:7)
  3. How can we tell if we have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit?
  4. Why do we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit?  Discuss some of the benefits and functions of the Holy Spirit.

WHAT IS CHURCH?

FOUNDATION CLASSES - WHAT IS CHURCH?

 

CLASS DISCUSSIONS:

  1. What is your understanding of the Church?
  2. How is Christianity fundamentally different from any other religion?
  3. What role does the Church have to play on the earth?
  4. Why is there no room for racism and division in the Church?
The Basics

THE BASICS OF PRAYER

FOUNDATION CLASSES- PRAYER

 

CLASS DISCUSSIONS:

  1. Why is it necessary to know about different kinds of prayer?
  2. Why do some Christians become battle weary?
  3. What is intercession?
  4. What spiritual principles do we need to understand if we are to have an effective prayer life? (Give at least 5 points)

THE BASICS OF FAITH

FOUNDATION CLASSES - THE BASICS OF FAITH

 

CLASS DISCUSSIONS:

  1. What is meant by the phrase ‘God is a God of Faith?’
  2. Why is faith so important? (Give at least 3 other points)
  3. What role does faith play in our understanding of spiritual things?
  4. What is the relationship between faith and fear? What conditions are necessary for the seed of faith to grow in our hearts?
  5. In what situations might we keep our faith personal?

THE BASICS OF DELIVERANCE

FOUNDATION CLASSES - DELIVERANCE

 

CLASS DISCUSSIONS:

  1. How does the sinful nature affect us after we are born again?
  2. Why does a Christian who has been born again and set free from the power of darkness still need deliverance?
  3. How can we be free from generational curses?
  4. What happens if a demon is cast out and a person continues in sin?
  5. How do we maintain our deliverance?
