Harvestime Student and Youth Minsitry
Young people are heavy influencers, and most importantly, we are heavily influenced. We grow according to how we are fed- we are what we eat. This is why it is vital that our input is clean, constructive, challenging- and full of the truth! This is where YIC comes in!
YIC (Youth Inspired for Christ) is the Youth Ministry of Harvestime Church. Our passion is to see friends, and other youth inspired for Christ; for the youth to be built up and equipped by the truth, to be encouraged to participate in events and to be inspired to reach out to others! Through the gifts and interests of the youth ministry, our goal is to see all youth strive to maximise their potential in Christ.
Here are a few things that Harvestime youth ministry is currently doing to influence the lives of young people in Surrey;
- Youth Christian Music Concert (REAL HYPE)
- Youth Bible Studies/ Cell Meetings
- New Fresher's Student Lunch
- Youth Outings, e.g. dinners, picnics, BBQs, bowling, etc
- Youth Services
- Youth Conference (BEHIND ENEMY LINES)
YIC's monthly youth meeting takes place at Harvestime Church on the last Friday of every month and is called 'G2K'. It caters for young people in their teens and early twenties. G2K runs from 7.00-8.30pm and includes food, fellowship, worship and interactive teaching.
Harvestime Teen Church
Harvestime Teen Church is envisaged as a bridge between children's church and the main Church Service. Its purpose is to equip the children to concentrate on a sermon, to take notes and to take away a life application from the sermon. Teen Church is for children aged 12 and over, who are not yet able to sit through an entire main service.
The Teen Church currently takes place in the Church office, with a Teen Church Leader. During this time, the teens watch a 30 minute DVD recording of a sermon message and are encouraged to take notes. The remainder of the time is spent in discussing what has been learnt and the leader answering any questions that people may have.
Chosen Generation
Chosen Generation is a monthly youth event for 8-12 year olds. It takes place at Harvestime Church on the last Friday of the month from 5.00-6.30pm. It takes on the format of a youth club with games, table tennis, tuck shop, etc, followed by 'Word on the Street', an oppourtunity for the youth people to discuss their faith and questions they may have.
